About this policy
X Account Risk Monitor is an independent Chrome extension that helps you review activity visible on X web pages. It is not affiliated with X. This policy describes the version available in the Chrome Web Store.
What the extension observes
When observation is enabled, the extension runs only on open x.com and www.x.com pages in this Chrome profile. It may record visible evidence of your posts, replies, follows, unfollows, likes, reposts, confirmed deletions of your own posts, and account verification or restriction notices shown by X. Records may include the observation time, your visible X @handle, your own post or reply ID and link, up to 160 characters of your own post or reply text, and up to 160 characters of a relevant X notice. Your own text or X notices may themselves contain other people's @handles or information.
To compare replies or follow activity, the extension may store locally transformed recipient or follow-target identifiers. When visible on a follow control or the current public profile, it may also store a follow target's @handle locally. It is not designed to save other users' post bodies, full profiles, following lists, or direct messages. It does not request access to passwords or authentication cookies.
How the information is used
The extension uses these local records to show an activity log, calculate counts and experimental behavior reminders, display evidence and limits of what can be inferred, and generate reports or backups at your request. It does not predict account suspension, make decisions for X, or automate actions on X.
Storage, sharing, and retention
Records and settings are kept in chrome.storage.local in your current Chrome profile. The developer does not operate a backend for this extension and does not receive these records, run analytics on them, sell them, or share them with third parties. The extension does not use the X API. It does not encrypt its local records separately from the protection provided by your device and browser profile.
Records remain locally until you clear them in the extension, remove the extension or its Chrome profile data, or browser storage is otherwise cleared. The extension does not apply a fixed automatic deletion period. You can download a PDF report or JSON backup. These files stay wherever your browser saves them until you delete or share them yourself. The JSON backup is unencrypted and includes local matching keys, so keep it private. Clearing extension records does not delete downloaded files.
Your controls
You can pause page observation, turn off local reply-recipient recognition or follow-target @handle capture, and clear local observations in the extension's settings. Turning off observation does not automatically erase earlier records. You can also export your records as a PDF report or JSON backup.
Changes and contact
If the extension's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated.
