If you regularly post, reply or follow accounts on X, it can be hard to remember what happened in a particular week. A local activity log gives you saved entries to revisit by month as you use X. It can be useful for ordinary reflection as well as when you need to check a particular period.
Build a record you can return to
Once installed with observation on, the extension can save visible actions from X pages you open in this Chrome profile, including posts, replies and follows. You can review saved entries and action counts by month or across the recorded period instead of relying on memory alone.
Starting before you need to look back gives you more time to build that record. If you later want to check what you posted in a certain week or how your follow activity changed, the saved entries provide a starting point. Actions from before installation cannot be added to this local log afterward.
Know what Chrome allows and where the data stays
The X website access shown by Chrome covers x.com and www.x.com. The extension uses it to observe visible actions on X pages you open. A separate local storage permission keeps the log and settings in this Chrome profile. This is not a request to connect your X account: you do not enter an X password, authorize an X login or provide an API key. The extension does not post, like or follow on your behalf.
Observed records are not sent to a developer-operated backend. You can pause observation, export a report or backup, and clear local records. The log is most useful if you use X in this Chrome profile; activity in the mobile app or another browser is outside its view. Recent saved times by action type help you see how far this local record reaches.
Start with the entries you have when reviewing a period
When you want to review a period, check the most recent saved times for the action types you care about, then open the relevant entries. A PDF report or JSON backup lets you keep a copy of the saved observations for your own reference.
If X displays an account notice, you can compare it with the activity your browser saved and any other information you have. That can help you organize a timeline of your own actions. X's internal assessment remains with X, so a browser log cannot identify the cause of an account restriction.
- Which period and action types do you want to review?
- What entries were saved in this Chrome profile?
- Would a report or backup help you keep those observations?
